Summary

This course is for all teachers, counselors, administrators, social workers, psychologists and bus drivers who are mandated reporters and employed or contracted to work in an educational setting in both public and private schools across New York State. This COMBINED, 2.5-hour, interactive online course teaches school personnel how to recognize and report child abuse and neglect in accordance with New York State mandated reporting laws and the 2018 Amendment to Education Law Article 23-B. Following completion of this course, participants will receive two certificates to satisfy the state's training requirements.

Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect for Mandated Reporters

This course is for professionals who are considered mandated reporters in New York State. This 2.5-hour, self-paced online course teaches mandated reporters how to identify and report child abuse and maltreatment in accordance with Social Services Law. This course was updated in 2023 to reflect changes to the law. All current mandated reporters must take this updated course within three years. Following the completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate of completion that they can file with the NY State Department of Education to fulfill requirements they may have for their job or professional licensure.
